Hannes Minnaar is one of the Netherlands’ most interesting pianists whose delicate and sensual touch affects the heart of everyone who loves piano music. He was invited to perform at the Oranjewoud Festival back in 2016 as a pianist in the famous Van BaerleTrio. This was in the same year that he released his highly celebrated CD with piano works by Fauré - works that will form the basis of this recital.
Fauré’s music for piano is much more than pleasant salon music. In the intimacy of his impromptus and preludes, this French composer manages to expose his soul time after time. His style - always original and personal - is lyrical, flowing and averse to extremes or ostentation. These properties lend the music its mellow yet deep character.
This performance is being co-funded by the Offringa-Hoekstra Stichting.
