The Oranjewoud Festival will open with a bang. The complete Noord Nederlands Orkest orchestra with conductor Benjamin Levy will perform on the brand-new stage built over the Prinsenwijk, the body of water behind the Oranjewoud Estate. The programme opens with a spectacular world première of Future Perfect, a site-specific work for symphony orchestra by American composer Vanessa Lann. Next, 17-year-old Noa Wildschut will perform as the soloist in Sergei Prokofiev’s Violin Concerto No. 2, one of the most moving solo concertos written in the 20th century. The orchestra and conductor will then conclude the concert with a fantastic flourish. The festival has now begun!
