Oranjewoud Festival presents a brand-new segment: The Salon. Picture a huge living room, full of sofas, cushions and rugs. In this relaxed, intimate setting, you are treated to a living room concert and talk show in one, brought to you by violinist Rosanne Philippens and radio producer Pieter van der Wielen. You will enjoy the most beautiful music by composers such as Mendelssohn, Schubert, Ravel and Shostakovich, performed by Rosanne, of course, the superb Dudok Quartet and Rosanne’s musical friends from Berlin and Paris, including cellist Camille Thomas.
In between performances, Pieter chats to prominent guests, such as author Geert Mak; journalist, author and filmmaker Natascha van Weezel; psychiatrist, philosopher and neuroscientist Damiaan Denys; and violinist and educator Vera Beths. Especially for De Salon, young composers such as Ramin Amin Tafreshi from Iran and Martín Francisco Mayo from Venezuela, each composed a one-minute piece. Sensational!
All interviews are Dutch spoken.
